FIT TIPS 2018 #1

With the new year comes new goals. Even if you’re not a resolution-maker, there’s something about a new year that feels like a fresh start and can be very motivating.

Unfortunately, motivation can wane quickly. That’s why I want to help you kick off the year right, with super simple daily tips to help you on your fitness journey. Rather than bog you down with huge resolutions that feel impossible, I’m going to be posting daily tips that are short and sweet. Maybe you’ll keep some of them, and perhaps others you’ll choose to set aside, and that’s totally fine. Either way, my hope is that in 30 days you can find several useful health & fitness tips to use all year – and beyond!

I’ll be posting these on social media with hashtag #fittips2018, so be sure to follow along there as well and tag friends who might like these tidbits of information! Please also share your ideas with me – what do you want to hear? Do you have some to share? Let me know!

So here we go…

Tip #1: TAKE A MULTIVITAMIN

Easy, right? Taking a daily multivitamin is one of the quickest, most doable goals I can think of. It’s hard to stick to health goals when you don’t know how long it will take to achieve or don’t see immediate results. But popping a pill each day is tangible and your success is simple to determine.

Multivitamins are not necessarily critical, because in an ideal world, you’d get most of the nutrients you need through food alone. Realistically, most people aren’t doing that – or even coming close. So a multi will cover all the bases and fill in the holes for you. It’s very easy to be low on vitamin D, iron, B vitamins, etc, yet many of these are necessary for energy levels, clear skin, mental focus and more.garden of life vitamins

Look for brands that are organic. I also like options that include real plants and foods in them – like a powdered form of foods I can’t always fit into my diet. Organic is important because if those vitamins are coming from plants that have been sprayed with chemicals, you don’t want to be putting that into your body. Two brands I’ve used and like are Rainbow Light for Women and Garden of Life. I would also recommend Dr. Axe Multivitamin for Men (if you’re a man, obviously).

That’s it! You’re already on your way to a healthier new year!
