fitness tips and hacks 2018

If I could recommend one daily supplement habit, this would be it – take turmeric!

Being healthy and fit is about much more than looking good. It’s also about feeling good, having a body that isn’t painful or uncomfortable, moving well, and avoiding sickness and disease.

Many of the foods we eat that are filled with pesticides and chemicals, polluted environments  we live in, and physical traumas can cause a lot of issues with how our bodies function and can create a lot of inflammation in our bodies. Inflammation is a source of a lot of chronic diseases, illnesses, and aches and pains. This includes things like cancer, arthritis, other auto-immune diseases, joint pain, and sickness.

Eating natural, organic foods helps with this, as does taking herbs and natural supplements. The God who created this world has already put so much into it to helps us fight these kinds of issues without having to rely on antibiotics and various other medications. Not that those things are always bad, and can in fact be life saving, but I always recommend starting to heal your body with natural means before anything else that can have side affects.

Fit Tip #16 – Take Turmeric

This fitness tip is super simple – take turmeric. If I could recommend ONE supplement to take daily, this would be it! It has been shown to fight, prevent and reverse cancers and many other life-altering diseases. Turmeric is good for  metabolism and weight management, skin, inflammation, and it tastes great in so many foods.

Turmeric is a natural herb used in cooking and tea. It’s popular for use in curries, Indian food, and it’s the ingredient that makes things yellow. Very yellow. It can be taken in capsule form or as a powder, but to take enough you’d need to take about 2-3 teaspoons per day. Adults can take 400-600 mg up to three times per day.  Since that is A LOT of turmeric powder, I suggest taking capsules. It’s also easy to add into smoothies or dishes like curry, soups, or masala.

Here are two options you might like to try, because they are organic and include black pepper, which is needed for your body to be able to absorb curcumin.

Curcumin is the compound within turmeric that offers all the great benefits that fight the issues I mentioned above.

Benefits of Taking Turmeric Powder

  • Natural pain killer
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Prevents blood clotting
  • Improve skin conditions and acne healing
  • Prevention and treatment of arthritis and cancer
  • Treatment of depression

This is a simple thing to do daily. I also like to take a little extra if I’m dealing with tendonitis pain, headaches, or cramps before I take other pain killers. You definitely want to do all you can to quell inflammation in the body, and this is a great way to do it. Plus, try adding it into your foods for more flavor and variety!
